school holidays

making dandelion chains

and swatting bugs

deep taste of toheroa...

a distant memory

a boy and his sword

centered in a sandcastle fortress--

dreams of endless wars

what stirs stillness

questions float in silence

never reaching shore

sheltered reef--

she speaks of a friend 

taken beyond

hihi

a high-pitched flitter

spreading the sun
